The Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was born in Mornese (Alessandria)on the 5th August 1872. It was founded by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello. Since then, this charisma, who cares about the education of new generations, has taken root in many countries around the world in order to accompany the lives of young people and to respond to the needs and changing demands expressed by society.
Already in the first decades after its foundation, we are witnessing a rapid expansion of the work of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters) in many parts of the world and thean increasing number of activities in response to concrete needs such as education, work, the protection of women and the assistance of ‘childhood etc..
In 1906 the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians open their home in Jerusalem and since then so many events, happy and difficult ones have followed.
Today in the community ‘we are 7 sisters from 6 different nations and among all of us speak at least eight languages. We are happy to be together and share our daily life meeting pilgrims from all over the world.
We wish to share our joy and serve others so that those who pass through our house may experience a simple, peaceful and cozy environment.
L’Istituto delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice nasce a Mornese (Alessandria) il 5 agosto 1872, fondato da san Giovanni Bosco e da santa Maria Domenica Mazzarello. Da allora, questo carisma, che ha a cuore l’educazione delle nuove generazioni, si è radicato in tanti Paesi del mondo per accompagnare la vita dei giovani e rispondere ai bisogni e alle esigenze sempre nuove espresse dalla società.
Già nei primi decenni dalla fondazione, si assiste ad una rapida espansione dell’opera delle FMA in tante parti del mondo e alla moltiplicazione delle attività in risposta a bisogni concreti come l’istruzione, il lavoro, la protezione della donna e l’assistenza dell’infanzia, ecc…
Nel 1906 le Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice aprono la casa in Gerusalemme e fin d’allora tanti avvenimenti si sono succeduti, alcuni felici, altri molto piu’ faticosi come quelli delle lotte armate.
Oggi nella comunita’ siamo 7 suore provenienti da 6 Nazioni diverse e tra tutte parliamo almeno 8 lingue. Siamo felici di stare insieme e condividere il quotidiano incontrando pellegrini da tutto il mondo. Desideriamo condividere la nostra gioia e servire gli altri perche’ chi passa nella nostra casa possa incointrare un ambiente semplice, sereno e accogliente
